How To Keep Fresh Your Bridal Lehenga Even After 15years

Girls spend a lot of energy and almost a day’s time, and of course a huge amount in finalizing their bridal lehenga. So it is obvious that you will keep this ethnic wear with utmost care after your wedding. Here it comes – if you are not aware how to preserve it in the best way to remain like new forever, it will lose its shine. Relax. Not to worry. Just read this guide on how to store your wedding lehenga in the correct way, and you enjoy its fresh look any time!

Does The Lehenga Require Refinishing!
Once the wedding function is over, don’t just wrap it and keep it back in almirah. Check properly the entire lehenga carefully if any threads are coming out or stones are falling. If there is anything that need repairing or refinishing then ask your fashion store tailor to fix it up.

Dry Cleaning
Don’t ever think of washing your bridal outfit at home yourself. Right after your wedding the first and the foremost step is to give your exclusive attire to the dry cleaners. Even if you see that your lehenga looks fine then also do not delay or postpone doing this. The more you delay, the higher are the chances the dirt or the sweat mark become permanent on the outfit.  Also dry cleaning seals the color of the fabric and prevents it from discoloration in the future.

Iron
When you receive the lehenga back from the laundry, before storing it away, check once more if it is properly ironed. If you could see any visible creases, iron them out. Be extremely cautious while ironing. Use a good iron to do the job. Put the iron at the lowest temperature, you can place a muslin cloth over the lehenga and iron very gently. Remember the cloth is quite delicate.

Fold it, Do Not Hang
Lehenga Ethnic Wear Store Kolkata never advises you to hang your wedding lehenga while storing it! A bridal lehenga usually is very heavy and the weight may pull down the dress and it may lose its shape over time. So, slways fold your lehenga when you store it.
Even though you are folding it, be very cautious. Folding it in a wrong way may cause excess creases. Your lehenga is full of stones, cutdana, zardosi work, you have to make sure that the folds doesn’t break them and ruin your wedding outfit.

Wrapping
Once you have carefully folded your lehenga, before storing it in the almirah, use a large muslin clothe wrap the entire lehenga properly. This is essential because muslin will envelop the garment and protect it from moisture and help it stay in a good condition. If you do not have muslin use tissue paper to avoid moisture and tangling of embellishments.

Let It Breathe Sometime
Every once in a while, take your lehenga off your shelf he box and let it get fresh air and sunlight for few minutes. This way you can keep the fabric remain fresh for a long time.
Also, you can add some naphthalene balls, some pieces of cloves, or cedar oil balls or to the muslin cloth for your outfit to smell good and keep your outfit away from insects.

Your ethnic lehenga isn’t just an ensemble; it’s the representation of memories. So just dumping the outfit may lose its charm. But if maintained carefully, you can wear it for many years to come across different occasions and even may be your daughter or daughter-in-law following the tradition of passing on from one generation to another.
